100 Tonne Electric Arburg Addition

100 Tonne Electric Arburg Addition

The on-going renewal programme saw the addition of a new 100 Tonne Arburg to the Derby facility.

Performance-oriented and cost-efficient plastic injection moulding

The innovative drive technology of the new electric Arburg makes the machines reliable and economical in the 100 Tonne clamping force range. Its automatic clamping force control and the automatic central oil lubrication system ensure stable processes and effectively minimises set-up and maintenance times. All of which means we can achieve competitive unit costs at all times as Tex Plastics continues to invest in providing greener, more efficient and self-sufficient injection moulding manufacturing solutions.

Striving for more energy efficient plastic injection moulding

"A large part of the renewal programme is looking at how we can work smarter and lower our carbon footprint. Smarter working is a combination of several things, but reducing costs is often the key driver. Whether it is reducing cycle times, energy bills or maintenance costs – our investment decisions are always based heavily on saving money over the medium to long term. Our continued investment programme based upon an ongoing review of greener injection moulding solutions enables us to remain highly competitive in the market place."

Consumer demand is driving smarter manufacturing solutions

As consumers demand lower carbon footprint products, and OEM’s crave competitive pricing plus the security of a shorter UK based supply chain, Tex Plastics ‘low carbon strategy’ has seen our sales increase. Our lower energy focus starts with great design, energy efficient manufacturing but also focuses on how we can reduce miles travelled. This predates the supply chain issues experienced as a result of the pandemic and leaving the EU – but with this backdrop, it’s enabled us to capitalise on our new found strategic strengths.

Key Benefits of the 100 Tonne Electric Arburg Addition

  • Direct-acting spindle drives ensure maximum reproducibility and part quality
  • Energy requirements are up to 50 % lower than for standard hydraulic machines
  • Low emissions due to liquid-cooled servo-electric drives
  • SELOGICA in new design and GESTICA: Smart controller technology “Made by ARBURG”
  • Ready for digitalisation: standard assistance packages and connectivity modules for ALLROUNDERs in clamp design
  • Special micro injection unit (EUROMAP 5) with 8-mm injection screw

With new, more energy efficient, productive injection moulding presses, it means Tex Plastics can achieve our commitment to lowering our carbon footprint per part manufactured.
