Returnable packaging reduces injection moulding carbon footprint

Tex Plastics have long championed reducing the environmental impact of their plastic injection moulding - this latest innovation is both simple and highly efficient.

Returnable crate and tote bin packaging

Tex Plastics continues to invest in providing greener, more efficient and self-sufficient injection moulding manufacturing solutions. Some innovations are big changes - like the hundreds of tonnes of reprocessed/recycled materials Tex Plastics now use per annum. Other changes are seemingly small, like switching to returnable crate and tote bin packaging. But it's about the marginal gains; the strategy of pushing for 1% gains on everything all the time. The concept of marginal gains revolutionised British Cycling and made the English Rugby Team the World Cup Winners in 2003.

Marginal gains in reducing our environmental impact

"Every little bit that helps make us more environmentally friendly, reduces the carbon footprint of the products we manufacture for our customers. Every business holds a societal obligation to implement green manufacturing initiatives - sometimes they are big, like new more energy efficient machines. Other times they are almost invisible - like the way we dispatch our products to your manufacturing line or warehouse."

Achieving ISO 14001 as an injection moulder

Tex Plastics has significantly reduced the carbon footprint per plastic component produced year on year. This has been achieved through applying our '3 Pillars of Eco Efficiency' process consistency to continuously innovate how we do things to reduce our overall carbon footprint. Whether it's been achieved by removing miles, reducing energy consumption or recycling more, the end goal helps our customers reduce 'their products' carbon footprint.
