New Toolmaker further strengthens the team

Steve Annabel joins Tex Plastics Derby facility with 40 years’ experience in toolmaking, starting when he left school as a toolmakers apprentice.

On site toolmaking expertise is essential

With four experienced toolmakers, the team isn't complete yet as Tex Plastics Derby facility seeks to recruit an apprentice. Steve brings traditional toolmaking skills coupled with a breadth of experience as a time served toolmaker.

"Having previously worked with Gary Shead, the Toolroom Manager here at Tex Plastics, I knew first-hand, the commitment the company has to investing in the team and facilities. Gary explained the aggressive investment plans and drive to offer more in-house tooling services. It was an easy decision to join the team here and great to be working in a business as forward thinking as Tex Plastics.”

In-house toolroom to match expanding capacity

With the increase in injection moulding of intricate plastic components, the in-house toolroom function is to manage and maintain the increasingly complex moulds. Whether brand new, used, or damaged, Tex Plastics have the technical expertise to make the required modifications in-house to prolong and preserve the life of the tooling used. Both Tex Plastics sites have in-house toolrooms to support production with the tooling for our customers.
