Responding to the challenges of recruitment
Sky Recruitment has been the strategic recruitment partner for Tex Plastics Derby facilities for a number of years. Just as Tex Plastics seek to develop a partnership approach with their customers to deliver the best possible project outcome, they have taken this route with their suppliers. Working through the past years 3 years has seen many unique recruitment challenges, from the impact of Brexit, to the enforced changes working through a pandemic, and now UK wide labour shortages. Throughout this, Sky Recruitment has worked diligently with us, and in partnership we've developed solutions to maintain a flexible workforce across our injection moulding facilities at Derby.
The challenges of a labour shortage
The greatest challenge we face today, which is reflected across the UK economy, is that of a labour shortage. This has resulted in probably the most innovative solution, Sky Recruitment have actually taken over the on-boarding and induction process. The outcome has been remarkable, as they have responsibility for recruiting for the vacancies that arise, plus training the new recruits in the early stages of their engagement with Tex Plastics. To facilitate this, they have an onsite office and as an outcome of the more involved nature of what they do, have been able to refine their selection process to make the recruitment process more flexible and effective.
