Repeatable and reliable plastic part production

Repeatable and reliable plastic part production

Tex Plastics has invested in Quality Control with a purpose built new 150m2 Lab facility.

Meeting critical dimensional tolerance requirements

Tex Plastics work with industries that need technical, high precision, plastic injection moulding. Whether producing components that are life critical used by fire fighters, to those used in a wide range of precision industries, including healthcare and medical device manufacture, means our quality control measures and quality control checks are incorporated into every aspect of part production — from project start-up through to the finished part.

A comprehensive plan and system of procedures

There are several different tests and control points, positioned throughout the injection moulding manufacturing process to make sure the finished product is up to the highest level of standards. Quality control covers everything from variables like injection speed, temperature and pressure. A review of the tooling design, the specific material and product, process parameters help us develop and customise a quality control plan for each plastic injection moulding product.

It's much more than ensuring consistency mass production of the same parts

Clear communication is essential. Every new project at Tex Plastics begins with our project and quality engineering team working closely with our customers’ design and quality engineers. A reviewing process to ensure we understand your product quality needs from the beginning. Which is why our quality control engineers and inspectors integrate quality across the manufacturing process. From product design through mould making to production as well as secondary operations such as printing, welding and heat staking. Considering material selection, dimensional tolerances, physical and mechanical properties, as well as end user expectations – numerous elements are factored in to achieve manufacturing excellence. This is so all parties understand in great detail the manufacturing expectations of the finished components for a given project before a mould goes into production.

Creative approach to streamlined manufacturing and problem solving

The project and quality control engineers and those of the customer, collaborate to share knowledge, make adjustments, to arrive at the best possible production process, tooling, and application outcome. Sharing insights into the part design, thoroughly examining the part practicalities and potential pitfalls, and identifying areas for improvement. Starting with a pilot production run, our team makes sure everything is documented, all the books are ready, and the tool is ready before turning it over to the production team and the component is launch into full production.

Inspections at regular frequencies at start-up and in-process

Our quality control system is based on the principles of ISO 9001:2015 with a comprehensive plan and system of procedures that guide our daily tasks and quality inspection on every production run. With high precision technical moulding we have to apply extremely comprehensive scientific moulding methods, to make sure we have the best possible process. By nature, quality control is a very detailed and structured procedure. As a result, we know immediately whether something is in specification or not.

Quality Systems

  • Self auditing
  • Capability studies and gage studies
  • Job specific work instructions to ensure consistency
  • Team Program Review

Quality Control Inspection

  • Fabricated components and assemblies are given to the quality department to ensure dimensional accuracy. Every box of parts is given a stamp of approval prior to shipping.
  • The precision instruments utilised by the quality department include:
  • Calipers
  • Part Specific fixtures
  • Gauge pins and Micrometers
  • CMM is programmed with parameters for inspection consistency

Quality Reports

  • First Article Inspection (FAI) reports
  • Critical Dimension Inspection (IQC points)
  • Short Run SPC
  • Final inspection report
  • Complete Process Validation
  • Installation Qualifications (IQ)
  • Operational Qualifications (OQ)
  • Performance Qualifications (PQ)
  • CPK Analysis

Regulatory

  • ISO 9001:2015 facility
  • ISO 14001 the world’s most recognised environmental management system standard

The attention to detail, expert analysis, and dedicated process management aren’t capabilities all custom injection moulders can offer — and fewer still have proficiencies in-house equal to Tex Plastics.
