Does injection moulding always move this fast at TEX Plastics?
26 February 2024
After 6 months at TEX Plastics Richard Broad reflects on his role and fast-moving pace of life as Business Development Manager.
In over 30 years in the plastics industry, I've never experienced such change
When they said life at TEX Plastics was interesting, they were making the greatest understatement of all time. During the time I've been engaged in discussions with the business and my formal appointment to 6 months in the role of BDM, it's been a whirlwind of change.
When I applied for the role, the management team said we have big plans to change the business. I secretly thought, yep, sure you have! But I seriously can't believe the changes since my first interview with Lee Barker.
The investment in the people, equipment and facilities is just remarkable
I feel confident in selling TEX Plastics because they have a clear vision of what they are about and what their clients need. ‘More than just a moulder’ isn't just a clever marketing strapline, it underpins the business ethos. When I speak with existing clients or new prospects, my focus is on the business problems I can help them solve. It's a collaboration, not just a quote on providing a holistic solution for the parts we make and the related supply chain needs.
TEX Plastics - More than just a moulder
So, what's the fuss about Richard, I hear you say? Well, let me tell you – since that interview with Lee: the team here have remapped the production facilities and installed 12 ‘super energy efficient’ injection moulding machines. They've launched a new website and implemented a new CRM to provide greater visibility on the needs of our client’s. The culture here is really positive and is being enhanced by the investment in a bespoke training academy. I'm really excited about what the future holds, as there is a lot more to come and I look forward to sharing the proposed developments as they come to fruition in the coming months.
