TEX Plastics is committed to achieving and where possible surpassing customer and industry standards on sustainability.
Our sustainability roadmap is comprehensive
International scientific consensus has stated, to keep global warming to no more than 1.5°C – as called for in the Paris Agreement – emissions need to be reduced by 45% by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050. We've appointed a specialist consultancy to support us in achieving this target and making credible, externally audited progress. By setting a goal of reducing our carbon footprint by 90% by 2050, TEX Plastics is demonstrating our commitment to sustainability and a healthier planet.
The business benefits of going green
This isn't a new concept for TEX Plastics as we've been consistently reducing our carbon footprint, and that of the clients who work with us, through replacing our machinery with more energy efficient alternatives, restructuring our factories to make them more efficient and providing supply chain solutions which reduce road miles. The many benefits we and our clients enjoy from this focus include:
1. Cost Savings: This is a major advantage. By implementing energy-efficient measures, TEX Plastics can ensure they remain competitive. Simple steps like switching to LED lighting, using water-saving fixtures and investing in energy-star appliances can add up to substantial savings over time. Additionally, reducing waste through recycling and reusing materials can lower waste management costs.
2. Enhanced Brand Reputation: Consumers are becoming increasingly environmentally conscious. By prioritising sustainability initiatives, TEX Plastics can project a positive brand image as a responsible, ethical and environmentally conscious company. This can attract new customers who value sustainability and strengthen loyalty among existing ones.
3. Attract and Retain Talent: A growing number of employees, especially younger generations, are looking to work for companies that align with their values. A strong focus on sustainability can make TEX Plastics a more attractive employer, aiding in recruitment and retention of top talent.
4. Future-Proofing the Business: Increasing regulations to limit greenhouse gas emissions will come into place, by proactively adopting sustainable practices, TEX Plastics can avoid the risk of fines or scrambling to comply with stricter regulations in the future.
5. Innovation and Efficiency: Focusing on sustainability often leads to innovation in new technologies and processes. This can make TEX Plastics more efficient and open doors to new business opportunities.
In short, going green isn't just good for the environment, it's good for business too. By implementing sustainable practices, TEX Plastics can save money, enhance their brand reputation, attract top talent and future-proof their business for long-term success.
