The two facilities are working more closely than ever before
TEX Plastics operates from two very different UK locations, Barnstaple North Devon and Derby in the heart of the Midlands. Both have niche areas of expertise, but during the last few years technology has meant the two facilities have been able to work more closely year on year. The major landmark was when the two individual limited companies within the TEX Group merged to become one in 2021. With a variety of retirements, it has enabled the promotion of key individuals to form a clearer management structure which straddles the two locations.
Clients just need to know we can solve their problems
The key advantage of the two locations has always been the capacity and redundancy. Although there are still specialisms, like the large moulding at Derby and extensive in-house added value solutions - the cleanroom moulding facilities in Barnstaple - the technical expertise to help clients develop better parts and supply chain solutions is where we've always excelled. Today it's common place to have video conference calls with several individuals in different locations. So our leadership and management reporting now operates as one across the two facilities and we're finding this is working for all parties, from our people and customers, to the leadership teams visibility on the pulse of the business.
