Cleanroom Expansion Powers TEX Plastics’ Growth in High-Precision Injection Moulding Sectors

The expanded facility strengthens TEX Plastics’ ability to serve medical devices, pharmaceutical packaging, laboratory consumables, electronics and specialist industrial components.

These markets demand exceptional precision and absolute cleanliness, whether for prototype development, clinical trials or full-scale production.

Expanded our Class 7 Plastic Injection Cleanroom facility

TEX Plastics have significantly expanded our Class 7 Cleanroom facility at our Barnstaple site. The investment includes the purchase of three KraussMaffei plastic injection moulding machines—two 100-tonne and one 200-tonne—to meet the rapidly growing demand for high-quality, cleanroom-produced components. This strategic move reinforces the company's position as a key partner for medical device manufacturers and other sectors requiring pristine manufacturing environments.

Meeting the Demand for Niche Medical Solutions

The new expansion is a direct response to a surge in demand from the medical device sector, particularly for high-precision components used in prototype development, clinical trials, and low-volume production. This niche market requires an unwavering commitment to quality and cleanliness, which TEX Plastics has built its reputation on. The new KraussMaffei machines will not only increase manufacturing capacity but also provide the precision needed to produce complex parts that meet the stringent requirements of medical innovation.

Accreditations That Guarantee Quality and Safety

The Barnstaple site already holds ISO 13485 accreditation for medical device manufacturing and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety, ensuring strict compliance with both quality and safety standards. These certifications, combined with the controlled cleanroom environment, position TEX Plastics as a trusted supplier for industries where contamination control, precision and traceability are critical.

Cleanroom manufacturing

Cleanroom manufacturing is increasingly sought after in sectors such as medical devices, pharmaceutical packaging, laboratory consumables, electronics and specialist industrial components. The expanded capacity enables TEX Plastics to take on more complex projects, shorten lead times, and ensuring both the highest quality standards and a competitive edge.

This latest investment reflects TEX Plastics’ long-term commitment to innovation, regulatory compliance, and customer service — ensuring that every cleanroom-moulded component meets the highest performance and hygiene standards.
