Congratulations Dan
9 February 2026
TEX Plastics is delighted to announce the promotion of Dan Herbert to the newly created position of Production and Planning Manager.
This centralised role has been developed to bring production planning even closer to customer services—ensuring that the company continues to meet, and exceed, the evolving demands of its diverse client base.
Dan’s appointment represents an important step forward in TEX Plastics’ long-term strategy to create a more agile, responsive, and data-driven manufacturing environment. Crucially, the role has only been made possible thanks to the successful rollout of TEX Plastics’ Real-Time Monitoring system, now fully operational across both the Barnstaple and Derby facilities.
A Single, Unified View of Production
The rationalisation to a single, consolidated view of production output and productivity across both sites gives TEX Plastics something invaluable: one version of the truth.
For the first time, Dan can oversee and schedule injection moulding activity across the entire organisation from a unified dashboard. Whether a machine is running in Barnstaple or Derby, production data is captured, analysed, and reported in real time. This means faster decision-making, smoother scheduling, and an enhanced ability to adapt to shifts in customer demand.
For customers, this centralised control reduces bottlenecks, improves lead-time accuracy and increases flexibility—particularly when rapid changes or urgent production adjustments are required.
A System Built for Modern Manufacturing
Real-Time Monitoring was first introduced at the Barnstaple site in 2023 and successfully implemented at the Derby facility the following year. With this foundation in place, the company has since invested further in smart-manufacturing infrastructure, including the installation of new Management Hubs on the factory floors.
These hubs allow supervisors and managers to instantly visualise machine status, production KPIs, downtime trends, and efficiency metrics. By harmonising this information across both sites, TEX Plastics has simplified internal reporting and created a seamless flow of accurate, actionable data.
For clients, this provides absolute confidence in TEX Plastics’ operational transparency. The company can now deliver precise, up-to-date performance information and demonstrate continuous improvement across both locations.
Supporting Customer Priorities: Sustainability, Traceability and Compliance
As customers increasingly focus on sustainability, traceability, and compliance, TEX Plastics’ unified monitoring system ensures that every machine—regardless of site—meets the same meticulous standards. The centralised data platform records material usage, cycle efficiency, energy consumption and scrap rates, giving customers full visibility into the environmental and operational impact of their products.
This strengthened oversight also supports regulatory compliance, offering reliable and consistent records that can be shared during audits or certification processes.
A Promotion that Enhances Customer Experience
Dan Herbert’s new position symbolises TEX Plastics’ commitment to combining skilled leadership with smart technology. By aligning production planning more closely with customer services, and by empowering decision-making with real-time data, the company is better equipped than ever to deliver reliable, flexible and future-ready manufacturing support.
TEX Plastics congratulates Dan on his well-deserved promotion—and looks forward to the many customer benefits his leadership and this new integrated production approach will deliver.
